Summer Law and Science Camp
The Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Law Institute at North Carolina Central University School of Law will host CSI Central from Monday, July 28th – Friday, August 1st 2008. This is a one week summer program designed to expose students in grades 4 – 6 to scientific evidence and how it is used in law. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of scientific evidence through hands-on practical exercises. Some topics covered include eyewitness testimony, blood and DNA analysis, and fingerprinting. Participants will be mentored by current NCCU law students. AT the end of the week participants will have had a series of skill building exercises in memory, analytical thinking, problem solving, and oral presentations/public speaking. The cost of this program is $300 which includes lunch each day. There is a maximum of 20 participants. There is a non-refundable deposit of $50 due by May 1 to secure a space in the program, which will be credited toward the program fee.
