Please join me in congratulating the Mediation Team in their accomplishments at the American Bar Association's 10th Annual Regional Mediation Competition at Regent University School of Law.  The competing law schools included William and Mary, Emory University, University of North Carolina, Regent University, and North Carolina Central University.
 
The judges were incredibly impressed with the skills that came from North Carolina Central University and suggested they  were mediating well above the level of law students.  This is a reflection upon the quality of the ADR program at NCCU, the dedication of the teams and coach, Kacie Wallace, to skills development and practice leading up to the competition, and the support of Mark Morris and the Dispute Resolution Institute. .
 
Kevin Hicks and Larry Brown comprised one team, placing third and Lisa Lambert and Jonathan Shaw comprised a second team, placing first.
 
As regional winners Jonathan and Lisa will travel to Seattle, WA to represent North Carolina Central University in the National Competition April 2,3, 2008. In addition, NCCU will have the honor of hosting the regional competition in 2009.
