Library Information Systems, is responsible for coordinating,
development, implementation, and management of automated information
systems in three academic libraries at the North Carolina Central
University. It serves as principal liaison with the regional libraries
network consortium. It works with the systems staff at consortium
libraries to evaluate and select automated systems to determine
appropriateness for the University; consults with computer and
telecommunications technical staff in order to facilitate linkages
between the University libraries and university's network system;
makes recommendations on long-range automation needs of the University
libraries, including cost projections.
