From Better to Best, On and Off the Field

Running a 40-yard dash in less than 4.5 seconds will get you noticed on a football field. A vertical leap of 45 inches or more is impressive on the basketball court, as is serving a tennis ball at 140 mph or so. But Zaneta Ponton, clinical supervisor and instructor in the Communications Disorders program at NCCU, is more concerned with what happens when a student-athlete steps off the field of play.
