The Government Documents Center is located on the second floor of the Shepard Library near the Serials Department. We are a federal depository library that provide free and unimpeded access to federal government information to the public (44 USC § 1911).
A wide range of subjects including business, education, criminal justice, health and related fields, history, political science, and consumer issues are covered. Current world events and statistical data are the recognized strengths of the collection.
Government publications are listed in the Shepard Library online public catalog. Other resources for locating government documents are the Catalog of U.S. Publications and MARCIVEWeb DOCS site. More information on government documents can be found on our government documents webpage “Government Information”, this link is accessible from the Shepard Library homepage under Other Resources. We have 2 workstations (computers and printers) available for students use with Microsoft Word and DVD capabilities. Please feel free to visit our department during the hours listed below.
The Center is open Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed on weekends. For use of materials at any other times, please contact the Center’s staff by telephone at (919) 530-6598 or e-mail Mr. Eric Morris.
