


Position Description: One tenure track position, 9-month, Assistant/Associate Professor in Professional Studies with an emphasis in Urban Studies.
Qualifications: A doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Urban Studies. The individual must have a strong background in urban studies (experience in recruitment and retention programs; infuse urban education in some of the 3000 level courses; and share information for program improvement). Preference will be given to candidates who have 5+ years of teaching. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate a strong commitment to and potential for teaching, service/outreach, research and external funding.
Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the professional studies program. Advise undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, candidates are expected to participate on School of Education and campus committees, provide service to schools, and engage in research and scholarly activities.
