About Us

Overview of the Professional Education Unit

The Strategic Plan for the School of Education is based on the University’s Strategic Plan and includes a Vision Statement, Mission Statement and seven goals. In addition our Conceptual Framework, which defines our teacher preparation program, and our Motto are included. The School of Education faculty approved this plan August 2004.

The goals were carefully developed to reflect the goals for the university and our accrediting agencies—NCATE, SDPI, CAA, and CACREP. Each of the five departments in the School of Education generated objectives to achieve our goals as a Unit.
