



Deborah O. Mitchell completed her baccalaureate degree in Family and Consumer Science December, 2007, Magna Cum Laude. She was installed in several honor societies as an undergraduate, including Kappa Omicron Nu, Phi Eta Sigma National Society, Phi Lambda Theta International Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society.
Ms. Mitchell has since continued her education by enrolling in the Masters Program of Special Education. It was her keen interest and strong pursuit of making a difference in the lives of children who are physically and mentally challenged that pushed her into this field. Following the completion of her Master's degree, Ms. Mitchell wants to be looked upon as a teacher who is diligent in her teaching efforts and deeply committed to the welfare and well-being of her students. As Administrative Support for the Department of Communication Disorders,
Ms. Mitchell serves and an initial point of contact for patients/clients seeking clinical speech-language-hearing services and students enrolled in the graduate program. She also responsible for the helping the Department Chair maintain an accurate account of all departmental state, overhead, grant and gift/trust accounts and regularly creates and tracks requisitions entered through the Banner System through each one's approval process to their completion where a purchase has been made or a service has been rendered to the department from an outside consultant or buyer requiring a fee-for service She stands firmly on the promise of being the first pleasant and lovely face you see when entering the Department of Communication Disorders.
