School Counseling
Goal
The School Counseling Masters Program at North Carolina Central University prepares counselors to work with children from the kindergarten level through high school. Counselor-trainees are prepared to work in elementary, middle, and high school settings. The University is located in Durham, NC, a fairly urban area located in central North Carolina (the "Triangle"). Nearby regions include rural areas, as well as the Research Triangle Park. The primary focus of the program is to prepare professional school counselors who can promote human growth and development in rural and urban educational settings.
