CRT - CRT Scholars Program
The CRT program has two primary goals:
- Prepare culturally responsive teachers
who can facilitate learning for students from diverse cultural communities.
All participants complete a 175-hour internship working in a community different from their own.
- Prepare special education teachers at the graduate level who
are dually licensed or highly qualified to teach in regular education classes.
All participants earn a dual license or highly qualified status to teach in regular education.
NC Teaching Licenses Earned in the CRT Program
- Initial License in General Curriculum, Special Education
- Advanced License in one of the following specialty areas:
- Behavioral Emotional Disabilities
- Learning Disabilities
- Mental Disabilities
- Visual Impairment
- Add-on license in one of the following
- Elementary Education
- Middle Grades
- Secondary Content Area
