In Review: Summer Session I
Summer
Session I has officially come to an end, and as if
it were still the Spring semester, it ended with the
Sonics winning the league championship. The
Knicks came on strong at the end, but could not finish
the job against the Sonics. Other than Intramural
Basketball, we did not have a large amount of participation
for our other sporting events. We encourage
all students/ faculty who are attending/ teaching
summer school to use the Walker Complex from Monday-
Friday from 3pm-7pm. The Complex is also open
on Saturday's from 11:30am-2:30pm. All sporting
schedules can be accessed by clicking on the link
of the particular sport in which you are inquiring
about.

In Review: Intramural Basketball
The
fifth and final week of Session I Intramural Basketball
has come to an end and the playoffs are now upon us.
There have been a few surprises in Session I, and
the Knicks going into the playoffs with the number
one seed has to be the unlikeliest of them all.
The Sonics, who entered the week with a lock for the
number one seed lost two straight games and fell to
the third seed. The Pistons lost their second
straight game to the Knicks, but luckily limped into
the playoffs with the second seed. The Bulls,
who have beaten both the Pistons and Sonics, continued
their steady play and are looking to shock Session
I with a title. The four team matchups are very
interesting as both games will feature teams that
did not play each other during the regular season.
At 4pm, the Knicks will play the Bulls, and at 5pm,
the Pistons will play the Sonics. The Championship
game will be played on Thursday, June 16, 2005, at
5pm.

In Review: Intramural Basketball
The
official first week of Summer Session I Intramural
sports has officially ended and as suspected, intramural
basketball is the headlining event. The season
started as predicted with the Session I favorites
(Sonics, and Pistons) winning their first games.
On thursday, the Sonics, who are defending champions
from the 2004-05 season ran their record to 2-0 by
blowing by the Jazz with a 72-67 victory. Surprisingly,
the Pistons were ran out of the building by the Knicks
who shot their way to a 60-43 win. Even more
shocking was the score as the Knicks were missing
their point guard for the entire game. The Pistons
will have to bounce back this coming week if they
expect to make the four team playoff for the Session
I season. With only three more games in the
regular season, every game counts. We have now
gone two weeks without any participation on our Monday
and Wednesday Dodgeball sessions. Please come
out and play from 4pm- 6pm on Court I !!! Also,
if you would like to sign up for any of the Session
I activities listed below in the Session I guide,
just come to the front desk of the Walker Complex
and sign out the needed equipment.
