NCCU Marching Sound Machine

The North Carolina Central University “Marching Sound Machine” has been selected to participate in the 2011 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. NCCU was selected because of its excellent musical talents, entertainment value, performance skills, efforts, and its outstanding directorship. This opportunity will expose NCCU to millions of spectators from around the world and will celebrate with the 122nd Rose Parade themed Building Dreams, Friends, & Memories. Viewers will delight in the tradition and pageantry of the magnificent floral floats, high-stepping equestrians and spirited marching bands.

Gift from Walmart
On September 29th, NCCU hosted representatives from Walmart’s transportation services division of the discount giant. Walmart  will transport the band’s instruments, equipment, luggage and uniforms. This gift, valued at close to $100,000, is the largest donation received in support of the (Marching Sound Machine's) Tournament of Roses $1 million dollars campaign.
